Re: Interception
Interception is basically pursuing or catching your enemy after they attacked your town or altar. It can be useful in several scenarios:

- If you are an offensive player and somebody is attacking you while your army is returning from some mission, but not getting back in time, you still may catch up with them and take back what they looted (including artifacts, soul gems, and resources)

- If you are an offensive player, but your army is not strong enough to counter-attack (and meet your enemies before they hit your town), you can dodge the attack and then catch them on their way back.

- If you are a defensive player, but you don't have enough troops to defend yourself and all you have in mercenary camps are offensive troops, you can again dodge your attack, recruiting offensive mercenaries and then intercept your returning troops with all of your troops, including mercenaries.

It can be very powerful tactic as returning troops would not have offensive bonus when getting intercepted, but your offensive troops will have this bonus. So, effectively, your attackers will be defenders (to use in the battle calculator for example). You can see for yourself on the screenshot below that much weaker battlegroup is winning while intercepting returning enemies Wink

There is a risk of course as when you dodge, your enemies will break the walls and your keep and also you may not have enough time before they are out of range of intercepting. But it's an option and can be very useful Well Done

Re: Interception
Just to add my little bit of wisdom as well...

Whether you're planning to intercept or counter-attack your enemy's forces - building a Watchtower to a high level, will greatly increase your chances of detecting an oncoming attack and therefore make it easier to intercept or counter-attack opposing troops. Well Done

Also, to clear things up:

Interception - attacking the enemy after you've been attacked
Counter-attack - attacking the enemy before you've been attacked

Re: Interception
How do you counter-attack ?

I did not see the option anywhere to do so (and would have gladly done so if give the opportunity :D).

Hi Reaver, in order to launch a counter-attack, you'll need to first be able to detect the attack (this relies solely on your Watchtower). Once you've detected this attack, you should be able to see this under 'troops orders'. From there, you should see an option to counter-attack AngryGo Crazy

Note: You can only detect an attack 10min after your opponent has sent their troops against you. Which means if they are too close to you, even if your Watchtower is fully upgraded (i.e. 100% detection), it may be too late to launch a counter. Sorry

Re: Interception
I saw everything you're saying but not the option to counter attack. All I could do is scout the incoming army. And I tried very hard to find it :D

Re: Interception
Okey-dokey...

When you detect an incoming attack, you can can see it in your troop orders. There are two ways to counter-attack an incoming - You can click the Red Flag to send you troops:

image

It will take you to the Send Troops screen and all you need to do is to select troops and click the Send Troops button.

image

The other way is to go directly to your Send Troops screen and select "Counter-Attack" from your list of actions:

image

After you select it (and if you have any detected incoming attacks), it will replace coordinates and town name with list of incoming attacks, they will be ordered by the time they are landing:

image

Select the one you want to counter-attack, and again click the "Send Troops" button.
You can see your counter-attack in your troop orders now:

Numbers in brackets are assigned just to identify incoming attacks, but only after you send your troops to scout them, counter-attack or intercept.

Hope it helps Happy

Re: Interception
The remarkable grant obligatory to reading by each true inhabitant of Undecima!
Such question. At interception the leaving aggressor becomes a defender. And in case of counterattack both parties have the attacking bonus?

Correct in both cases. Interception can be totally devastating for the Attacker, but for that you have to be online and time everything precisely. There is a risk of having your fortifications damaged while dodging the attack, but a chance to eliminate a strong army of your opponent may well worth it Wink
